Barbados has recorded its first covid-19 related death Saturday Night April 4th.
The deceased is an 81-year-old man who returned from the United Kingdom on March 22nd along with his wife 83.
The deceased along with his wife were tested for covid-19 yesterday Saturday Aptril 4th after reporting symptoms, they both tested positive for the viral illness. The condition of the deceased man who had underlying medical conditions deteriorated rapidly after being admitted into care.
This sad news was announced by Minister of Health Lt. Col Jeffery Bostic in a press conference earlier today.
This Minister also revealed that over 100 medical staff from Cuba will arrive today Sunday April 5th, and medical facility at Harisson Point will be handed over to the government on Monday.
Additionally, the island has recorded 6 recoveries and 4 new cases bringing the tally to 56 of which 28 are male and 28 are female. ranging from ages 7 to 83 years majority of the cases are imported.
