Three men charged on several criminal offences

Three men have been formally charged by Police in relation to a number of serious criminal offences some dating back to june of 2018.


Police investigations led by the personnel of the Criminal Investigations Division’s Major Crimes Unit has culminated in the arrests of the following individuals:



1. Jakran Ta’shawn Shamar Griffith, 19 years of 1st Avenue Alleynes Land Bush Hall St. Michael.

2. Romono Anthony Drayton, 24 years of Turton Gap, Government Hill St. Michael,

3. Rico Radarrah Reneal Forde, of Salters St. George


The three have been charged on the following offences:


1. Jakran Griffith

That he on the 7th day of February 2020, had a .38 revolver in his possession did not have a license from the Commissioner of Police to do so. That he on the 7th day of February 2020, had in his possession five (5) rounds of ammunition and did not have a permit from the Commissioner of Police to do so. That he on the 7th day of February 2020 assaulted Police Sergeant 1840 Rommel Downes with a firearm during the execution of his duty.


2. Rico Forde

That he on the 7th day of February 2020, had in his possession one (1) .9mm Smith and Wesson pistol and did not have a license from the Commissioner of Police to do so. That he on the 7th day of February 2020, had in his possession (9) rounds of ammunition and did not have a permit from the Commissioner of Police to do so. That he on the 26th day of January 2020, recklessly or without lawful authority or excuse, discharged a firearm in a public place to wit: Sol Service Station Charles Row Bridge in a manner which placed Jianne Douglas in danger of death or serious bodily harm. That he on the 26th day of January 2020 caused Serious Bodily Harm to Shaquille Callender with intent to main, disfigure or disable him, or to do some serious bodily harm to him and on the said date used a firearm without a valid license to do so. (Sol Service Station Shooting) That he on the 4th day of January 2020 used a firearm whilst at Government Hill St. Michael.



Also that he on the 4th day of January 2020 he discharged a firearm along Government Hill St. Michael, a public place that placed Rashad Massiah in danger of death and serious bodily harm.


3. Romono Anthony Drayton

That he on the 1st day of June 2018, robbed Sean Edwards (Police Officer) and Ameina Storey whilst at Brandons Beach St. Michael. That he on the 1st day of June 2018, robbed Orlando Burke of property totalling ($1,285.00) Bds. That he also on the 1st day of June 2018, robbed Anesta Henry of property totalling ($1,820.00) Bds. Drayton was also charged that he on the 4th day of January 2020 used a firearm whilst at Government Hill St. Michael. Also that he on the said date he discharged a firearm along Government Hill St. Michael, a public place that placed Rashad Massiah in danger of death and serious bodily harm. That the said Romono Drayton on the 27th day of August 2018, assaulted Ramario Greene occasioning him actual bodily harm. That Romono Drayton on the 7th day of July 2019, with intent to maim disfigure or disable Shaquille Callender, did serious bodily harm to the said Shaquille Callender. That he on the 7th day of July 2019, used a firearm without a valid license to do so. That he on the 28th day of December 2018 robbed Tyrell Shorey of one (1) motorcycle valued five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) Bds. That he on the 7th day of February 2020, did unlawfully have in his possession a controlled drug to wit: Cannabis.


The three are scheduled to appear at the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today Thursday, February 13th, 2020 at 9:00 am.
